Client Guidebook
This guidebook covers what to expect once you arrive at Dawson Recovery. You will find the basics on daily structure, how phone and visitor policies differ by program, what to bring to sessions with your case manager, and the ways your family can stay involved during treatment. Read it before your first day.
Client Guidebook, The Details
Your first week at Dawson Recovery follows a predictable rhythm, and knowing what that looks like ahead of time makes the transition easier. Days start with breakfast and a morning check-in, then move through individual and group sessions, meals at set times, and free periods in the afternoon or evening. Structure is the point. It gives you something steady to lean on while the harder work happens.
A few practical things to know:
- Phone access and visitor days are not the same across programs. Detox has tighter limits than residential, and your intake team will tell you exactly what applies to you.
- Your case manager is your main point of contact. Bring them questions about scheduling, medications, discharge planning, and anything that feels unclear.
- Families can stay involved through scheduled calls, family sessions, and updates you approve. Your care team will walk you through the paperwork that makes that possible.
Bring comfortable clothes, any current prescriptions in their original bottles, and a list of phone numbers you want written down. If you forget something, ask. Someone on staff can usually help you sort it out the same day.
